Now we’ll start to look forward to the 7.22.0 update. This update will have a few various changes, and today we’ll be looking at a reworked raid card and two new raid cards.
For our reworks, we are changing Ravenous Swarm. Ravenous Swarm will randomly apply affliction stacks to parts when you would exceed the affliction stacks on a part. This randomness has it often put affliction stacks on armored parts that may not need to be damaged. To help with this, we are reworking Ravenous Swarm to prioritize exposed body parts first. When you exceed the affliction stacks of a part, it will choose a random body part to put the stacks on. If there are no body parts available, then it will default back to randomly choosing an armored part. This will help Ravenous Swarm focus damage for parts that match your clan’s strategy, and can pair well with cards that want a mix of body and armor parts such as Flak Shot.
We also have two new raid cards. One of these works well alongside the reworked Ravenous Swarm, where it works well when you have a mix of armor and body parts. Barbed Morningstar is a new Burst raid card. It will deal burst damage, and then has two types of conditional damage boosts. Body Damage is increased for each armor part on the titan, and Armor Damage is increased for each exposed body part on the titan. This makes Barbed Morningstar very strong at helping set up cards such as Skeletal Smash that want to break body parts while most parts remained armored, and also strong at setting up cards like Insanity Void where you can break down the last armored part. Regardless of what part you’re hitting, Barbed Morningstar can get some additional damage.
Our second new raid card is a more general bonus, and we’ve gotten a lot of feedback about wanting more Support card options to ensure that you always have a good support for your attacks. Battle Drums will help fulfill this role! Battle Drums is one of our first raid cards that has a downside associated, and then with a large upside to counterbalance and exceed that downside. Battle Drums will decrease the raid attack duration, decreasing the amount of time you have to attack the titans. However, it also has a massive increase in support damage, far higher than what a normal support card would give. This overall helps offset the duration decrease. Battle Drums works best with cards that can deal large amounts of damage from the start, such as many Burst cards, and doesn’t work as well with cards that scale up in damage over time such as Ruinous Rain or Radioactivity. And for our rerollers, the shorter attack duration makes it easier to see your final damage and reroll to maximize your output!
