Hey everyone,
Friday means that it’s time for another DevUpdate! Last week we teased Silent March as something big we’re working on so let’s delve right on in. We’ve had Silent March in our sights for quite some time and I’m super happy to be able to break the silence on what we’ve got in store! As it stands Silent March is in a bit of a weird spot. It’s currently seen as somewhat of a Skill Point sink, causing builds to lose some active power in exchange for inactive progression. Getting straight to the point here, we’re removing Silent March from the skill tree entirely.
Silent March will return as a passive skill in 3.8, completely separate from the Rogue skill tree, making it available to all players, in all builds, at all times. With this change comes another little tweak to some equipment set bonuses and secondary stats. Inactive Damage and Stealth Damage are being removed from all equipment and from the Exotic Pet Xander as these stats will become obsolete with the changes happening to Silent March. The Mythic Set “Dark Predator” will also see its primary bonus being changed from “Deadly Strike boosts inactive damage” to something else. I’ll delve a little deeper into the specifics of how the new Silent March will work next week as we finalize the changes internally. One thing I can confirm however is that since Silent March will be changing to a passive skill, Arcane Bargain will affect it.
Our goal was to make Silent March more accessible to all builds and all players without having to shift precious skill points out of your main build and into Silent March. This change goes hand in hand with some concerns brought up over the way we’ve changed prestiges to work. Players voiced their concerns over the ability to obtain their daily raid ticket tied to a prestige on days when they didn’t have a lot of time to play. This new Silent March is going to be a big step in addressing that concern, as when you first log into the game for the day you’ll be close-to, if not well inside, the Max Stage % prestige window. This means that reaching that daily ticket for your first prestige will take little to no effort and ensure that players all have a fair shot at obtaining that raid ticket even on days when they don’t have a ton of time to dedicate to TT2.
Touching on the removal of both Inactive and Stealth Damage from the Exotic Pet Xander and from equipment stats; Both will have these stats replaced, including all owned equipment that currently has Inactive or Stealth Damage on it as a secondary stat. These will be re-rolled to the replacement stat, which we’ll talk more about in the coming weeks. Inactive and Stealth Gold, on the other hand, are still relevant stats in the new system and will remain untouched.
I know some of you may be thinking “without Silent March, the Rogue skill tree would be pretty barren…” and you’re correct! I’m going to end todays post with another teaser for next weeks DevUpdate. The Rogue tree will be getting a full re-work. There’s a lot still to be done on this and lots of the new skills are being built up, tested, and finalized so no details for now, but by next week I’ll be bringing in some hot new news about 2020, year of the Rogue.
That’s all for now. Thank you everyone for tuning in to our 3rd DevUpdate and we’ll see you next week!
Cheers,
Felkin GH
